It’s summer and it’s PRIDE! The year has gone so fast but here we are in the middle of 2022.  Right now, I’m just taking things one day at a time.  Trying to balance my mental health needs and my writing. I think I’m doing a good job so far but it’s still early yet.

Last month I finished the second draft of ‘Halfway Under The Mistletoe’ which is my Black m/m romance and I had so much fun doing it. It really was a breath of fresh air after struggling to whip ‘Keeping Up With The Joneses’ into shape.  I’m almost ready to get into the editing phase for that book but my characters decided to go ahead and catch romantic feelings in what was surely going to be an erotica story.  So I had to re-arrange everything at the last minute and by the time I was done, I was burnt out on that story.

But I totally had a blast writing Mistletoe and right now I’m prepping for this short and steamy erotica called ‘Soft Serve’ which if you loved ‘Fall Into You’ and you wanted more sex? Well, you are going to love this book.  I am having way too much fun prepping for the second draft of it right now. ‘

Beyond that, I dropped a project because I just wanted to feel it despite the extensive research I did for it.  I am learning more and more about when to lean all the way into something and when you just have to let it go and move on to the next project.

I felt sad about it, I’m not going to lie but sometimes projects are not meant to be.  Anyway, beyond that, my kids are not driving me mad even though they are home all summer and I actually got a UV lamp to help me cope with my seasonal depression.  Honestly, it’s so hot in San Antonio right now that I feel I would incinerate if I stepped out of my front door.

And if it’s not that, it’s the mosquitos.  We are also keeping our dogs inside more because it’s way too hot for the little guys. Anyway, that’s all I got for now. I hope you all have a wonderful pride month and that you have safe and happy summer!
